About Me

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and I have been teaching since I was fifteen years old. I attended Wheelock College in Boston for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I have had many different types of teaching experience: a preschool teacher in a parent cooperative nursery school, a kindergarten prep teacher at the Wellesley College day care, an integrated preschool teacher in a public school, a kindergarten teacher in a public charter school, and a Montessori Children's House (3 - 6) teacher in a private school. I finally found my niche as a Montessori teacher and Room 3 in Placentino is the perfect place for me!

I live with my husband and two Boston Terriers, who keep me busy. My favorite activities are taking day trips to the coast up and down New England, catching up with reading, and hiking to find waterfalls.

I firmly believe that children learn best when they feel safe, secure, and relaxed. I aim to create a respectful and peaceful classroom community. The classroom ground rules are respecting one's self, respecting others, and respecting the classroom. The children help decide what each rule means and how they can best accomplish them. I love to watch the students feel an inner motivation to gain independence in their learning, to achieve more, to work collaboratively with peers, and to take ownership of the classroom.

Please send me an email if you have any questions at all.

I believe that children are most successful when I work closely with their parents. You know your children so well and I truly appreciate your views and ideas. I look forward to fostering partnerships with my students' families. As partners, we will help your children love learning and get started on the right path for a successful future.
